Classic Sauces & Condiments

Keto Mayo

– Keto Summit

Keto Mayo

Ingredients: egg, apple cider vinegar, olive oil.

With zero carbohydrates, this mayonnaise makes a wonderful base for sauces and dressings and lets low carb dieters enjoy the creamy texture without breaking the rules. You can customize it by adding garlic and turning it into aioli as a dip for veggies. Mayonnaise can look difficult to make, but if you follow the instructions here, you can easily make it on a regular basis.

An additional reason to love this dressing is the apple cider vinegar, which is great for gut health.

Easy Keto Tomato Ketchup

– Keto Summit

Easy Keto Tomato Ketchup

Ingredients: diced tomatoes (in can), Italian seasoning, star anise, white vinegar, salt, ground black pepper.

When you look at the ingredients in store-bought ketchup, you will be horrified at the amount of added sugar that is in there – sugar that we need to avoid on a ketogenic diet! This ketchup has a more natural tomato flavor and is so good with vegetable fries, piled on burgers or even served as a side at your next family barbecue. It is easy to make, so you can rustle up a batch when you need it.

Keto BBQ Sauce

– Keto Summit

Keto BBQ Sauce

Ingredients: tomato paste, water, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, coconut aminos, ghee, yellow mustard, stevia.

This sauce must be one of the healthiest ever as it is zero carbs and very low in calories, making it great for anyone on a weight loss plan. The sauce has a lovely smoky hint and just the right amount of sweetness, and this makes it great to serve with any grilled meat. It also makes a great dipping sauce for mini meatballs or burgers.

Keto Hollandaise Sauce

– Keto Summit

Keto Hollandaise Sauce

Ingredients: egg yolks, lemon juice, ghee, salt, pepper.

This is an easy recipe that you can use to make a basic, but really tasty Hollandaise sauce that you can adapt to suit your taste. This sauce is traditionally served with eggs in an eggs Benedict, but it can also be served with vegetables like asparagus for a really impressive side. This recipe is low in carbohydrates but relatively high in healthy fats.

Keto Gravy

– Keto Summit

Keto Gravy

Ingredients: raw beef bones, olive oil, onion, celery, garlic, mushrooms, cold water, thyme sprigs, rosemary sprigs, egg yolks, salt, ground black pepper.

When you are serving roast meats or sausages it can absolutely make the dish if you serve some gravy on the side, so now you can make our own rich and delicious gravy, thickened with egg yolks for a luxurious sauce. Using the tempering method can be a bit tricky, but take your time and it will be perfectly ketogenic every time!

Keto Tomato Sauce

– Keto Summit

Keto Tomato Sauce

Ingredients: olive oil, onion, garlic cloves, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, stevia.

It doesn’t matter what type of Italian meal you are having, this tasty, low carb sauce will be your healthy go-to! It works on cauliflower pizza bases, as a sauce with vegetable noodles, or as a pour-over sauce for chicken. So, if you are having an Italian-themed dinner party you can make a big batch of this to impress your dinner guests or use it as a ‘pizza’ sauce for your next film night.

Pasta Sauces

Chunky Keto Spaghetti Sauce

– Keto Summit

Chunky Keto Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients: olive oil, onion, bell pepper, garlic, diced tomatoes (in can), fresh basil leaves, salt, pepper, stevia.

Here is a really useful recipe if you are following an eating plan to help you lose weight as it is really low in carbs and calories, but serving this sauce with vegetable noodles can be filling and satisfying comfort food. This recipe is also suitable for vegetarian and vegan people and is grain and nut free, so is perfect for sleepovers when you are catering for kids!

Keto Marinara Sauce

– Keto Summit

Keto Marinara Sauce

Ingredients: onion, olive oil, diced tomatoes (in can), tomato paste, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper.

Sometimes healthy sauces can taste so different to traditional ones that they can put folks off, but this marinara sauce is so delicious you will probably prefer it to regular ones! This sauce is rich and thick enough to use for dipping but tastes just as good with veggie noodles or shirataki. It works well as a pizza sauce, but our favorite is to cook meatballs and add them to this for a super-tasty dinner.

Keto Alfredo Sauce

– Keto Summit

Keto Alfredo Sauce

Ingredients: ghee, cauliflower, coconut cream, garlic powder, salt, pepper, parsley, bacon.

Although this Alfredo sauce is rich and creamy and tastes like its regular alternatives, it is low in carbs and dairy free, making it suitable for low carb and Paleo diets. The sauce can then be used as a coating for vegetable noodles or ‘pasta’ as a filling and satisfying but healthy meal midweek. If you like to add a bit of protein you can add in some bacon or a few chunks of cooked chicken.

Easy Keto Basil Pesto

– Keto Summit

Easy Keto Basil Pesto

Ingredients: olive oil, pine nuts, garlic, fresh basil leaves, flat-leaf parsley leaves, nutritional yeast flakes, fresh lemon juice, salt, ground black pepper.

Traditional pesto involves using parmesan cheese, but as we don’t advise you eat dairy products on the ketogenic diet, we have used nutritional yeast to give the ‘cheesy’ flavor. Pesto makes a fantastic partner for vegetable noodles or other ‘pasta’ and can bring a whole new level of flavor to an ordinary dish. If you are on a tight budget you can make this cheaper by omitting the pine nuts.

Low Carb Alfredo Sauce

Alfredo sauce is normally used with pasta, and it can certainly liven up vegetable alternatives. Because this recipe uses a lot of dairy products, we would advise you only eat this occasionally, perhaps for a special occasion. This is a low carb recipe for a sauce with cheese and garlic goodness that makes a great partner for zucchini noodles.

This sauce tastes so good with chicken, but it also makes a great partner with salmon or tuna as the coconut flavor enhances the taste of the fish. Don’t worry if the sauce looks split – it just needs a quick mix before serving!
