Sure, we understand that just like when on any diet you may be eating a lot of salads. Fair enough if you are getting sick of them. But, that is why mixing up your regular salads up for something with a bit more kick is so important.

What could change up your everyday salads more than this Keto taco salad recipe? Offering plenty of fresh vegetables, protein and a little bit of spice this salad makes a perfect lunch or dinner. What do you need a traditional taco for anyways, when you can have a salad this good?

It’s All About the Freshness

You may notice that there is no dressing for this salad. Because what do you need it for? It is all about getting these fresh vegetables together and enjoying them as is. There is something about the way tomatoes, red onion, and avocado work to create the fresh Mexican palate on the tongue.

Of course, if you did want to add some extra life to your taco salad, adding some Keto salsa or sour cream on top would be pretty great. Making salsa from scratch can be a wonderful experience; however, it can be pretty easy to find options that will work well for your diet. The added spice will be well worth it.

It’s Not All About the Beef

Taco beef is pretty classic, and it is always a family favorite when it comes to recipes such as this. But, just because that is put in here doesn’t mean it has to be that way. Chicken makes a great option for this salad and is easily alternated in place of the beef – it also works exceptionally well with the Keto taco seasoning recipe that is provided.

The options don’t stop there. You can feel free to replace the protein with your favorite pulled pork recipe. Maybe you love the taste of ground turkey. The protein is entirely up to you, as long as you enjoy it.

A Quick Meal to Get Through the Day

I think the best part about this meal is how easy it is to assemble. If you do not have much time for lunch, you probably tend to throw a salad together anyways. Why not go the extra step and give yourself a good boost of protein.

The best way to assure you can have a healthy meal like this at any time is to prepare yourself for those moments when you need it. A lot of these vegetables can be cut up ahead of time and stored in the fridge as soon as you get home from the grocery store. The taco beef can also be cooked up and refrigerated. If you have all of these ingredients at your disposal, you will be ready to throw this meal together at a moments notice, and you won’t feel a need to eat something less good for you.
