There has been a lot of great things to come out of the rise of healthy diets. Chefs and bakers have had to test themselves and reinvent the way that they create classic dishes. Who would have ever thought about making cookies using avocados as a base without a bit of resourcefulness?

This keto chocolate avocado cookie recipe with macadamia nuts is a unique treat that will surprise anyone with how delicious it is. The best part is how healthy they are for you, offering a low calorie, low carb alternative to most snacks.

A Completely Healthy Alternative

This keto-friendly chocolate avocado cookie recipe is a wonderful alternative for anyone with health concerns. The avocado replaces the butter of standard cookies, using fats that are natural and great for you.

Additionally, this keto version of other avocado cookies has a minimal amount of carbs and is completely sugar-free. These cookies are perfect for the whole family and you can feel great sharing them with anybody because they are a nutritious option over other snacks.

Some Simple Baking Tips

Cookies are not a complicated thing to make in general, but they can often come out completely wrong. Thankfully, this recipe is quite simple and straightforward. As long as you follow the recipe like it is an exact formula, everything should turn out great.

A couple tricks to remember:

  • You can always add more, but you can’t take ingredients out.
  • Same with heat: you can cook it longer if you need to, but once it’s overcooked it is too late.
  • Use parchment paper or silicone liners. They not only make it easy to get the cookies off but help the bottoms bake more evenly.
  • Let the cookies sit on the pan for a couple minutes before you try to remove them.

Macadamia Nuts Are Not Your Only Option

I love macadamia nuts and they work perfectly in this cookie. However, there are lots of options to replace the sometimes expensive nut. Try a few of these options in your next batch:

  • Almonds
  • Hazelnut
  • Dark or unsweetened chocolate chips
  • Almond butter

All of those choices work for a nice bite in the middle of your cookie. You can also add some options into the cookie batter itself for new flavors. Try these options and have fun with cooking:

  • Peppermint extract
  • Orange extract
  • Shredded coconut
  • Cinnamon
