Description
This fresh Thai burger will change your cookout forever.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs (675 g) of ground beef
- 1 medium onion, peeled and diced
- 1/4 cup of fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 2 eggs, whisked
- 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of hot sauce or 1 small chili pepper, diced (optional)
- 2 teaspoons of fresh ginger, minced or finely diced
- 4 Tablespoons (60 ml) of coconut oil, divided, to cook with
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, basil, eggs, optional hot sauce or chili pepper, and ginger. Season with salt and pepper.
- Form the beef mixture into 8 burger patties.
- In a large skillet, melt 4 Tablespoons (60 ml) of coconut oil. In batches, fry the burger patties until cooked through, about 3 to 5 minutes per side. Check with a meat thermometer that the internal temperature of the burgers reach 165 F (75 C).
- Season with salt and pepper, to taste, and if desired, top with a fried egg.
