Lemon Garlic Keto Pork Steaks with Asparagus

Louise | April 6

Pork chops are such an easy and very keto dish to make.  However, one of the hardest things about cooking pork chops is adding enough flavor to make them tasty and not dry!

That’s why I want to introduce you to this super simple way to add flavor and a side dish to your pork chops.

Your go-to seasoning…garlic and lemon.  They’re easily available and even easier to cook with.  Plus, if you don’t happen to have them fresh you can also buy lemon juice and use garlic powder.  Lemon and pepper seasoning salt is another easy option if you don’t have fresh seasoning to hand.

And with flavoring like garlic and lemon, you won’t need to coat your pork chops with carb-heavy breadcrumbs or ready mixes.

This pork chop recipe is super tasty, and it will take only 30 minutes to get it done so consider it for a nice, quick and healthy dinner for you and your loved ones.

And if you don’t love asparagus, no worries!  Just substitute the asparagus for a different side dish… this Roasted Cheesy Keto Cauliflower Recipe is another side dish that goes really well with pork chops.

Ingredients

  •     2 pork chops
  •     1 lemon, sliced into wedges.
  •     2 cloves garlic
  •     1 small bunch thin asparagus spears (roughly 6oz)
  •     2 tbsp olive oil

  2. Heat the oil in a skillet or frying pan over medium high heat.
  3. Once hot, add the garlic and pork chops. Cook for 4-5 minutes on the first side.
  4. After the first side is cooked, add the asparagus to your steamer and steam for 5 minutes.
  5. Flip the pork chops and squeeze over half of the lemon. Season to taste. Cook for another 4-5 minutes until the pork chops are cooked.  Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the pork reaches 145F.
