Quick Note: Several of these ketogenic cookie recipes use xanthan gum. And if you’re not familiar with this ingredient, it’s a common thickening agent (often found in processed foods). It’s been suggested that xanthan gum should be avoided if you have digestive issues or if you have severe allergies to corn, soy, dairy, or wheat as it’s often produced on a medium containing those ingredients. So, omit this if you can.

Here are just a few of the Keto Cookies Recipes we’ve included:

Ketogenic cookies are beginning to be enjoyed more and more, as they make great snacks without blowing the rules. – Keto Summit

3-Ingredient Keto No-Bake Coconut Cookies Recipe #keto https://ketosummit.com/keto-no-bake-coconut-cookies-recipeIngredients: coconut butter, almonds, erythritol or stevia.

As with other no-bake cookies, these ones have a more fudgy texture but have a bit of crunch from the almonds. These are a great way to satisfy a sweet craving and keep you going until dinner. You can make these chocolaty by adding cocoa powder, which is a lovely way to keep that chocolate urge at bay. These cookies should be stored in the refrigerator as they go sticky and soft if left at room temperature.

Low Carb Chocolate Chip Cookies

– Keto Connect

Ingredients: almond flour, butter, egg, erythritol, liquid stevia, baking soda, baking powder, vanilla extract, xanthan gum, unsweetened bakers chocolate, salt.

If you prefer your cookies to be soft in the middle then this is the recipe for you! These taste so close to traditional cookies that you and your family will hardly believe they are ketogenic. They are filled with pockets of chocolate and the molasses gives them that caramel flavor that ordinary cookies have. You can freeze the dough in individual mounds and just cook a few as you need them, which helps with portion control too!

– Low Carb Yum

Ingredients: butter, Sukrin:1 or other sugar substitute, cream cheese, egg, almond flour, coconut flour, vanilla extract.

This is a recipe that will make basic sugar-free cookies, but you can add in other extracts like lemon to give you a range of flavors. Again, the dough can be frozen to be baked at a later time. This makes a lot of cookies, so would be the perfect one to use for entertaining or for Christmas cookies to give as gifts to friends and neighbors. Pack them in a box and watch them smile when they open it!

Low Carb Keto Cream Cheese Cookies (Contains Dairy)

– Wholesome Yum

Ingredients: butter, plain cream cheese, erythritol, egg white, vanilla extract, almond flour, sea salt.

If you prefer your cookies crispy then these ones should fit the bill! They are sugar-free and delicious, and can even be decorated with your favorite topping or frosting. This would be a great way to get the kids involved in cooking, and then they can decorate their own. Leave the cookies to cool completely as this will make them lovely and crisp. These cookies can be frozen once cool, so batch-cook for later!

5 Ingredient Keto Chocolate Cookies

– Keto Diet App

Ingredients: almond butter or any nut or seed butter, eggs, unsweetened cacao powder, powdered erythritol, salt, liquid stevia extract, cayenne pepper.

Just imagine a crisp and delicious low carb chocolate cookie with a cup of tea or coffee! Well here is a dessert recipe that can help. With a rich texture that is slightly soft in the middle and has a true chocolate flavor, these cookies can be stored for a few days in an airtight container, or they can be frozen so you always have a supply of tasty snacks. If you can’t use erythritol, just sub it out for your favorite sweetener.

Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie (Contains Dairy)

– Sugar Free Londoner

Ingredients: ground almonds, egg, double cream, butter or coconut oil, baking powder, erythritol, vanilla extract, dark chocolate (85% minimum or sugar-free).

There is something so satisfying about making and serving homemade cookies for friends and family, and they will be delighted you went to the bother! Although these ones do have dairy in them, it is well worth it if you can use cream as it adds to the overall result. The ingredients list calls for double cream, but if you are in the US, you will know this as heavy cream!

Keebler Cookies

– Keto Adapted

Ingredients: almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, sugar substitute, egg, sea salt, coconut oil, unsweetened baking chocolate, unsweetened almond milk.

Decorated with zigzags of chocolate frosting, these lovely cookies look like something to enjoy in the holidays! If it is coming up to Christmas you could try adding in some ginger to the mixture, or put some cinnamon in the frosting for an extra holiday flavor. And don’t worry about the shape of your cookies – just use whatever cookie cutter you have as it won’t affect the flavor.

Keto Oreos (Contains Dairy)

– The Primitive Palate

Ingredients: almond or hazelnut flour, coconut flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, xanthan gum, salt, butter, Swerve sweetener, egg, vanilla extract, cream cheese.

Sometimes an Oreo cookie is exactly what you need, so now you can make your own! They even look like real Oreos as they have a cream filling and go really well with a glass of your favorite milk. They are gluten-free, so would be perfect to make for a gluten-intolerant friend as a present or for a healthier option for children. These are also suitable for a diabetic diet if you cut out the sweetener.

Plus, the cocoa adds an antioxidant boost. Registered Dietitian Toby Amidor, RD, CDN says, “The cocoa bean…is a rich source of the antioxidant theobromine, which helps reduce inflammation and may help lower blood pressure.”

Ketogenic Cookie Recipes With Nuts

Keto Butter Pecan Cookies

– All Day I Dream About Food

Ingredients: unsalted butter, swerve sweetener, almond flour, coconut flour, vanilla extract, salt, pecans.

The cookies in this recipe are not fancy, they don’t have frosting or special toppings, but they are absolutely delicious! They have a similar texture to shortbread but with the added goodness from the pecan nuts. These ones can be kept at room temperature for a few days, and then stored in the fridge. That is, if you can keep them for that long!

Grain Free Low Carb Cranberry Pistachio Cookies

– Sugar Free Mom

Ingredients: cranberries, Swerve sweetener or other sugar free sub, lemon juice, salt, coconut flour, Swerve sweetener, xanthan gum, baking powder, salt, butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, vanilla extract, lemon liquid stevia, raw unsalted pistachios.

Wow! These cookies would be perfect for a birthday or holiday celebration as they look so special thanks to the pink color. They are packed with flavor and texture and are a lovely combination of fruity and nutty. You can substitute pecans for the pistachios for a slightly different taste, and rolling the edges of the cookies in the chopped nuts gives them a really luxurious look.

Pecan Almond Shortbread

– The Nourished Caveman

Ingredients: pecans, almonds, pastured butter, Swerve, vanilla extract.

These shortbread cookies use coarse flour so the texture will be chunkier than traditional shortbread, but they still have the same crumble. They take on a wonderful golden color as they cook and the hardest part is leaving them to cool so that they firm up! Like a lot of other ketogenic cookie recipes, the dough can be made and then frozen so that you can cook them at a future date.

Chewy Keto Pecan Cookies

– I Breathe I’m Hungry

27 Crackin' Keto Cookies Recipes

Ingredients: ground pecans, egg, salted butter, baking soda, ganulated sweetener, pecan halves (optional).

These pecan cookies are so quick and easy to prepare that they would be wonderful to make for a coffee morning with friends. Unlike some cookies, these ones are designed to be chewy, and because of the use of the nuts they can be quite filling, so one cookie will probably be plenty. Allow these to cool completely before serving.

Walnut Cardamom Snowballs

– All Day I Dream About Food

Ingredients: almond flour, walnuts, coconut flour, baking powder, ground cardamom, salt, butter, Swerve Sweetener or other granulated erythritol, egg, vanilla extract, stevia extract.

Some people will know these little treats as Russian teacakes and they are normally coated with powdered sugar to let them appear snow-covered. They have a denser consistency than some cookies but are packed with flavor. These low-carb versions would be great made for Christmas time as a special holiday surprise for the family, or when friends pop round.

Keto Almond Crescent Cookies

– I Breathe I’m Hungry

27 Crackin' Keto Cookies Recipes

Photo Credit: Mellissa from I Breathe I’m Hungry

Ingredients: butter, kosher salt, granulated erythritol sweetener, vanilla extract, almond extract, almond flour, almonds.

These crescent cookies look so good with their toasty almond covering and they remind me of Christmas cookies. They are quite simple to make and definitely don’t taste gluten-free and low-carb! In some stores, crescent cookies are half-coated in chocolate, and that would be an idea here, although they taste so good as they are!

Keto Chocolate & Pecan Cookies

– Keto Diet App

Ingredients: eggs, extra virgin coconut oil, erythritol, liquid Stevia extract, raw cacao powder, coconut flour, cinnamon, dark 85% chocolate, pecan nuts.

This recipe makes 60 cookies which means they would be a great idea for Christmas when you have people staying over. They are rich and chocolaty and look amazing with their chocolate frosting and nutty topping. Because you are making these with coconut flour you will need to keep an eye on them as coconut flour can cause them to burn quicker than wheat flour.

Raspberry Almond Thumprints

– All Day I Dream About Food

Ingredients: almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, butter, confectioner’s Swerve sweetener, egg yolk, almond extract, raspberry chia seed jam, water.

When I first saw these cookies, I thought they would be a lovely idea cut into heart-shaped cookies for a Valentine’s Day treat, but I guess you could eat them all year round. They have a crumbly, shortbread texture with a really fresh raspberry jam centre and topped off with the glaze, they would grace any table and impress your guests. If you prefer them a bit crunchy, you can increase the cooking time. This is another child-friendly way to get kids involved in the cooking!

Keto Pumpkin Snickerdoodle Cookies

– Ruled Me

Ingredients: almond flour, salted butter, pumpkin puree, vanilla extract, baking powder, egg, erythritol, liquid stevia, pumpkin pie spice.

These cookies taste like traditional snickerdoodle cookies, but with a little twist – they have pumpkin puree in them! They have a lovely flavor, especially if you sprinkle them with the pumpkin pie spice, and would be an ideal snack to serve at Halloween. Like most cookie recipes, the longer you leave the cookies to cool, the firmer they are, so try to keep your hands off till they firm up!

Low Carb Clementine Cardamom Shortbread Cookies

– I Breathe I’m Hungry

27 Crackin' Keto Cookies Recipes

Photo Credit: Mellissa from I Breathe I’m Hungry

Ingredients: butter, almond flour, granulated sweetener, ground cardamom, clementine (tangerine) zest, 90% or greater cacao dark chocolate.

Shortbread cookies are often made in our house as a treat for a birthday or Christmas, and the thought of chocolate and orange together always brings Christmas to mind. If you can’t get clementines then you can use orange zest, but the clementine adds a distinct flavor that complements the cardamom really well. You don’t have to dip these in chocolate, but for a holiday treat, why not!

Browned Butter Cacao Nib Cookies

– All Day I Dream About Food

Ingredients: butter, almond flour, coconut flour, granulated erythritol, arrowroot starch, baking powder, xanthan gum, salt, cacao nibs, eggs, vanilla, stevia extract.

The browned butter in these cookies gives them a wonderfully nutty flavor which goes so well with the cacao nibs. The cookies are crunchy and delicious served with coffee or a glass of your favorite milk. Instead of drizzling the glaze over the top, you could dip one half of the cookie in the chocolate mix. The dough can be a bit crumbly, so we recommend you roll it out and use a cutter to form the cookies.

Cookie Cut Outs (Contains Dairy)

– Keto Adapted

Ingredients: butter, cream cheese, confectioners Swerve, baking powder, extract (orange/lemon/vanilla/almond), sea salt, almond flour, confectioners’ Swerve (or powdered erythritol and 1 tsp stevia glycerite), unsweetened almond milk, natural food coloring.

Here is the perfect chance to experiment with your holiday cookies, by altering the extracts you use to give you different flavors. For example, I use mint extract and green frosting for St. Patrick’s Day and white frosting and orange extract for Christmas, but the choice is yours. If you have any leftovers, store them in the fridge as the cookies will soften if left at room temperature.

Thin Mint Low Carb Cookies

– I Breathe I’m Hungry

27 Crackin' Keto Cookies Recipes

Photo Credit: Mellissa from I Breathe I’m Hungry

Ingredients: desiccated unsweetened coconut, unsweetened almond milk, peppermint extract, granulated sweetener, egg whites, xanthan gum, 90% or greater cacao dark chocolate.

If you are a big fan of wafer-thin mints, these ketogenic macaroon cookies are for you! They have a rich coating of dark chocolate and a really good chocolate flavor, but without the sugars and artificial additives that mints can have. These macaroons are chewy bites of deliciousness and can be stored in the freezer – they can even be enjoyed eaten frozen on a hot day!

Lemon Almond Shortbread Cookies (Contains Dairy)

– I Breathe I’m Hungry

27 Crackin' Keto Cookies Recipes

Ingredients: butter, almond flour, granulated sweetener, lemon zest.

Traditional linzer cookies are made from a ground nut crust with a fruit preserve centre. The ones in this recipe are not so complicated to make, yet still have the expected flavor. You can use whatever sugar-free preserves you have, so have fun changing the taste a bit! These are lovely as they are or you can crumble some of the base over the top for added texture. Leave to cool completely before cutting and these are great to serve to friends with a cup of coffee.

Low Carb Lemon Bar Recipe

– I Breathe I’m Hungry

27 Crackin' Keto Cookies Recipes

Photo Credit: Mellissa from I Breathe I’m Hungry

Ingredients: butter, almond flour, granulated sugar substitute, lemon zest, lemon juice, egg yolks, xanthan gum, unflavored gelatin.

Lemon is one of my favorite flavors, so I was so pleased to find this low carb recipe! It almost reminded me of the lemon meringue pie my Grandma used to make! These bars have a shortbread base and a smooth and tangy lemon topping, and the amount of lemon you add is totally up to you, so if you like the bars really lemony, add in some lemon extract. The good thing with this recipe is that the bars can be frozen, so you won’t be short of ideas for lunchboxes and snacks.

Brown Butter Coconut Cookies

– Low Carb Yum

27 Crackin' Keto Cookies Recipes

Ingredients: unsalted butter, water, Swerve, eggs, pure vanilla extract, almond flour, coconut flour, baking soda, baking powder, sea salt, flaked coconut.

Here is an excellent recipe if you are a coconut lover, as the cookies are packed with coconut flavor and the added nuttiness of the browned butter. It looks like a complicated recipe, but trust me, once you’ve made these once you will find them quite easy to make. If you don’t have a sweet tooth or are trying to use less sweetener, then cut down the amount, but taste the mixture first to find the level you like.

Keto Cinnamon Swirl Cookies

– Keto Diet App

Ingredients: almond flour, powdered Erythritol or Swerve, gluten-free baking powder, coconut oil, salt, cinnamon, water (optional).

These lovely ketogenic cookies remind me of the cinnamon ‘pinwheels’ we used to make as kids! And these are a great way to get the kids involved in cooking, so why not let them help? The cookies may not be perfect, but they will eat them more readily if they’ve made them! If you find the dough is a bit crumbly to work with, try chilling it in the fridge first and that should help.
