Keto Turmeric Bone Broth
It’s clear that turmeric products are in high demand – but many come with a hefty price tag. Make this DIY keto turmeric bone broth at home and save yourself a lot of cash.
Making Bone Broth
There are two components to this recipe. The bone broth itself is easy but requires extra cooking time.
If you’re making it on the stove top, you’ve got about a six-hour slog to get you to the start line of this turmeric take on bone broth.
You’ll need carrots, celery, onion, gelatin, and two pounds of beef bones to get started.
If you have an instant pot, you can cut your bone broth cook time down to two hours. Check out the instant pot version here.
Once you’ve got the bone broth finished, you’re almost done. At this point, you just need to whisk in a few more ingredients to get your finished product.
Broth vs. Stock
There is definitely some confusion between the two soupy liquids. Chefs, in particular, are struggling with the current understanding of bone broth.
To them, a broth is a thinner base that’s made using more meat and less bone, while stock is comprised mostly of bones and some vegetables.
Broth is typically cooked for a shorter period of less than two hours, while stock simmers for as long as six hours.
The bone broth phenomenon turned this understanding upside down.
You see, bone broth is technically a stock. It’s obviously bone-based and takes much longer to cook.
It’s supposed to be nice and thick. The collagen that has seeped out of the bones makes for a gelatinous texture when cooled.
Fans of bone broth frequently tout its benefits to hair, skin, nails, and digestive health.
