Keto Turkey Burgers with Jammy Onions Recipe

Remember when you were out late on a Friday night and you stopped for greasy burgers? While this keto turkey burgers recipe is probably much healthier, the jammy onions will take you right back to the memory of your favorite sack of sliders.

What Are Jammy Onions?

Jammy onions are cooked down until they’re soft and sweet. Once you get the hang of them, you’ll want to put them in just about everything you make!
When you’re making jammy onions to pair with your keto turkey burgers recipe, there are a couple of things to keep in mind.

  • First, make sure you slice the onion thinly and evenly. Bigger pieces will obviously take longer to cook through.
  • Second, don’t be tempted to crank the heat up high. Onions burn easily, so cook them over a low heat. Make sure you keep an eye on them and stir often.
  • Finally, make sure you use a big enough pan. It shouldn’t be an issue if you’re just using a medium-sized onion for this recipe, but if you plan on doubling up, make sure you use a large pan or work in batches.

I know plenty of people who won’t go within five feet of a raw onion who actually enjoy these jammy onions, especially over a juicy turkey burger. If turkey isn’t your thing, you could try this chutney-like topping in a Portobello mushroom burger.

These sweet onions would also be great atop the perfect steak!
