Description

This fancy dish is an easy way to impress your family and guests.


Ingredients

  • 1 filet mignon or similar steak (6 oz approx 1-inch thick)
  • 1 Tablespoon (15 g) salt
  • 2 Tablespoons (10 g) peppercorns
  • 1 sprig of thyme
  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 2 Tablespoons (30 ml) ghee, to cook with

Instructions

  1. Remove steaks from the refrigerator, season with salt and let sit for 30 minutes.
  2. Crush the peppercorns, using a mortar and pestle or a flat board or pan.
  3. Press the crushed peppercorns onto both sides of the steak.
  4. In a hot skillet, add the ghee, thyme, and garlic. When the ghee is hot, add in the steak.  Cook the steak for 3-4 minutes per side.  This should get it to medium rare.
