Are you on Keto? Whether or not you’re on a diet, it’s always a good idea to stay hydrated throughout the day. Besides that, we all like to have a nice, refreshing drink every now and then.

What you may not have realized is that your Ketogenic diet won’t stop you from enjoying some of your favorite drinks. Some drinks need to be adjusted a little to fit a Keto diet, and that’s where these easy recipes come along.

We’ve collected a great variety of tasty Keto drinks for you to make - both, daily and on a special occasion. Here are a few things you may not know yet:

Some of Your Favorite Drinks Are Already Keto 

That’s right - many drinks are Keto as they are, and you won’t have to make any changes.

  • Coffee and tea - It’s perfectly fine to enjoy either of these, just make sure you’re not loading them with sugar or milk. If you’re not a fan of black coffee or tea, try using a natural sweetener, and switching regular milk to almond or coconut milk. Or better still, try our Keto coffee recipe.
  • Flavored water - Making your own flavored water is super easy (and cheap!), but if you decide to go for store-bought, just make sure it doesn’t include sugar.
  • Smoothies - Drinking a Keto smoothie is a great way to start your day! Not all smoothies are Keto, but if you follow these recipes below you can enjoy without feeling guilty.
  • Unsweetened almond milk and coconut milk - As I mentioned before, these are great dairy-free alternatives for regular milk, in case you’d like to add a bit of something to your coffee or tea.

Is Diet Soda Keto? 

Sugar isn’t the only thing you should look for when reading the product ingredient labels.

You might think it’s easy to just pick up a diet soda instead of a regular one, but that’s not quite how it goes.  Artificial sweeteners aren’t great for your long term health!

So, skip the diet coke and go for some lemon sparkling water instead.  Or make your own Keto-approved diet soda with some a Keto sweetener like stevia.

Can I Drink Alcohol On Keto? 

Sorry, guys - even if you’re going out with your favorite people this weekend, I can’t tell you it’s totally fine to enjoy drinks with alcohol… I know you could try limiting it to a drink or two, but it’s still not going to be good for your Ketogenic diet.

Most cocktails include a lot of sugar (the mixers, on top of the alcohol itself), and there’s just no way of getting around it. But there are plenty of mocktail options for you, if you decide to stick to Keto!

Choose mocktails that don’t include sugary ingredients. You won’t destroy your diet - and you’ll be super happy about your decision, the next morning.

There are some wines (like Dry Farm Wines) that contain zero sugar.  Keto experts like Dr D'Agostino have found drinking those dry wines to affect their ketone levels much.  But remember that alcohol can still affect how hungry you are as well as make it more likely you’ll opt for junk food.
