Keto Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus Recipe
Fancy without the fuss. Dress up your appetizers with this easy keto prosciutto wrapped asparagus recipe.
What is Prosciutto?
Simply put, it’s an Italian word for ham. In America, it is typically uncooked and dry cured. This curing process makes prosciutto safe to eat. Always a plus!
It’s a great option for your ketogenic diet, as it has a high-fat content. The fat makes for a melt-in-your-mouth buttery magic that makes these asparagus spears hard to resist.
Prosciutto is typically sliced very thin, which makes it handy for these wraps. Trying to wrap a thick slice of ham around asparagus would be more comical than practical.
Prosciutto should be easy to find at your regular grocery store. You can buy it pre-packaged or ask for it at the deli.
Unfortunately, prosciutto is not the most economical meat in the world. If you simply can’t swing it, you could substitute thinly sliced deli ham, turkey, or roast beef.
But if the cost is not prohibitive, prosciutto offers a savory treat and break from your standard fare.
It’s also a tempting way to encourage others to eat their veggies! And bonus, you get to eat a quarter of the recipe as your serving size.
So often on diets, your serving size is just a few bites. Not so with this snazzy appetizer!
What to Pair with Wrapped Asparagus
You don’t actually need to pair it with anything! Prosciutto wrapped asparagus is great on its own as a snack or appetizer.
But it also does a nice job of dressing up lunch or dinner.
Right now I’m loving it with soup, like this Cheesy Keto Zucchini Soup Recipe. Definitely give it a try. It’s dairy-free, despite its cheesy taste.
It also makes a nice partner for Keto Cauliflower Buffalo Chicken Bake. I’ve always found it to be a winning combo on game day.
However you enjoy them, you really can’t go wrong with these asparagus wraps.
