Coffee is a lot of people’s morning medicine, but make sure you’re enjoying it keto-style. Here’s some inspiration for keto-friendly coffee and tea!
Keto Iced Lemon Coffee Recipe
HISTORY:
I’m not sure who came up with this brilliant idea originally, but it likely originated in Europe (possibly in Portugal or Austria or France) as the mazagran.
Clearly, there are many modern versions of this drink recipe (even Starbucks has a version). And in Sweden, high-end coffee shops serve it with cold brew as Kaffelemonad (coffee lemonade).
SHOULD YOU ADD A SWEETENER?
Personally, I like to keep this Keto drink sugar-free, but if prefer a sweeter version, then try adding a few drops of stevia into it. Traditionally, it’s sweetened with syrup.
SHOULD YOU ADD A CREAMER?
No creamers needed for this Keto drink recipe – it’s a light refreshing drink. Just add ice cubes (use coffee ice cubes if you have time to make them for a more intense flavor).
LEMON:
Use freshly squeezed lemon juice and add in a few slices of lemon when serving for extra color. I use less lemon juice than traditional recipes as I don’t add much sweetener to balance it. But if you’re adding in honey or more stevia, then you can also increase the lemon juice amount.
Our keto iced lemon coffee recipe is obviously better for you than a Starbucks drink but just as tasty, so there’s no reason why you shouldn’t try it!
