These days it seems like you can get a burger with anything you want on it. You want an egg? Done! You want onion rings? Done! This Keto guacamole chicken bacon burger is cut from the same cloth as those other over the top burgers but it’s a lot healthier. No carb-filled, deep-fried, toppings to be found here. Just fresh flavorful guacamole packed with creamy avocado goodness, accented by tangy lime and cilantro. The chicken burger is juicy, with high-quality chicken breast meat and smoky bacon. With burgers this flavorful, you won’t even notice that there isn’t a bun!

Tips for Chicken Burger Perfection

  • If you don’t have a food processer, you can buy ground chicken for this recipe. Make sure you read the label to see what it is that you’re buying. At some stores, you can get your chicken ground to order so that you know exactly what cuts you’re buying.
  • Keep the burger mixture cold and handle it as little as possible when you are forming the patties. If you overwork your burger mixture, the patties will be tough.
  • Make sure you cook the burgers to the perfect temperature, too short and they won’t be safe to eat but too long and they’ll dry out. An instant read thermometer is useful here to make sure that you get the timing and temperature just right every time.

Going Bun-less

The biggest difference between Keto-friendly burgers and other burgers is that your typical hamburger bun isn’t low-carb, so it’s got to go. But never fear, there are many options for those following a grain-free diet to still enjoy burgers sans bun. Read on for some burger serving suggestions.

  • Naked Burger – This is the simplest low-carb burger out there, simply skip the bun and don’t replace it. Who needs a bun when you have fries on the side?
  • Patties on the Side – This option is perfect if you’re feeling a little hungrier. Rather than serving your burger plain, serve it with a side of cauliflower rice, Hawaiian style! If you’re feeling really fancy, you can even put a fried egg on top.
  • Lettuce Try Something New – The lightest of the bun replacement options, a lettuce-wrapped burger is a low-carb classic.
  • Sauce with That? – Worried that your bun-less burger will be missing something? Skip the dry bun and go for a sauce instead. Sure, you’ll need to use a knife and fork to eat it but it’s worth it for the flavor.
  • Keto Chameleon – Really craving that bun? We’ve got you covered. Two words, coconut flour.
