What is Golden Milk?

Recipes and uses for golden milk have been around for thousands of years. It’s basically turmeric seeped in milk (in this recipe, we’ve used coconut milk instead of regular milk).

Deriving its name from the golden hue imparted by turmeric, golden milk has enjoyed a long history of medicinal use (due to the turmeric used in it) and serves as an excellent stand in for coffee or tea.

Keto golden milk jello adds an elegant dessert twist and a more substantial feel to this age-old comfort.

Shortcuts and Options

On any given night, my biggest struggle with a recipe is not having all the ingredients, and not wanting to run to the store. You don’t need to give up on tasty keto desserts because you are out of time or out of an ingredient. This recipe is flexible and can be adapted to your time and taste.

Check out these alternative options:

  • Gelatin conversion (approximate)
    1 packet powdered gelatin = 3 sheets gelatin = 1 Tbsp powdered gelatin (2)
  • Need your jello to set quickly? Chill the mold or bowl you will be using
  • For a tasty twist, leave out the jello entirely and have a warm spicy beverage
  • Make this your own! You can change the amount of spice, add other spices, add more or gelatin and have Golden Milk Jello cubes, add less and have a creamy soft dessert.

  1. Heat up the milk in a small pot and mix in the turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper.
  2. Carefully whisk in the gelatin until there are no lumps and it’s all dissolved.
  3. Pour into molds.
  4. Set in the fridge for 2-3 hours until set.
