Description
A good quality broth can be used to slow cook the pork chops to perfection.
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons (30 ml) of olive oil
- 4 pork chops (640 g)
- 1 large onion (115 g), peeled and sliced
- 1 cup (150 g) of mushrooms, sliced
- 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) of warm beef or chicken broth
- 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) of gluten-free tamari sauce
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
- chives, to garnish
Instructions
- In a pan, heat the olive oil and grill the pork chops until browned on all sides. Set aside.
- In the same pan, fry the onions and mushrooms until caramelized. Deglaze the pan with the broth then pour the mixture into a crock pot. Add the pork chops and cook for 3 hours on low. Remove the chops from the crockpot, season, and set aside covered, to keep warm.
- Transfer the broth and onion mixture into a clean pan and reduce over high heat to a thicker gravy. Stir in the tamari and serve the sauce with the chops.
- Garnish with chives.
