Cooking the perfect drumstick may seem like it should be easy to do. However, I know from experience that the simple things can be the toughest to master. Even the most celebrated sushi chefs in the world have to spend years learning how to cook rice. So, even something straightforward like chicken needs some attention.

Thankfully, we know that having a proper recipe can help to make a world of difference. That is why we broke down this chicken dish to make it as easy to follow as possible. In a few simple steps, you can make the perfect Keto crispy rosemary chicken drumsticks and impress the whole family.

Making the Perfect Crispy Skin

Crispy chicken skin does not have to come from a deep fryer. In fact, it is a lot easier than you may think and can be done without much work at all. This recipe is done entirely in the oven, because what could be easier?

The trick is to make sure that your oven as at the desired temperature before you put the chicken in. Heat is an essential ingredient in so many foods and has to be used properly. The only other thing you have to worry about is making sure that the chicken is well coated in oil. Any spots without the oil will come out with a different texture.

Why Use Rosemary?

There are a plethora of herbs and spices that we could have used to make this recipe. So, why did we choose rosemary? Well, flavor-wise, rosemary adds a freshness that not many other ingredients can emulate. The pine-like taste and odor are desirable and can often be hidden when used with too many stronger flavors. So, giving the herb a chance to stand out will provide you with a whole new appreciation.

Besides that, there are some health benefits to rosemary. It is an antioxidant that can help to prevent cancer and muscle degeneration. It is also beneficial for the brain and is supposed to help with aging, memory, and concentration.

Some Other Flavor Options

As much as we love rosemary, that’s not to say there are not some other fantastic choices to be featured on this dish. Here are a few Keto-friendly options for you to try on your next batch of chicken drumsticks:

  • Oregano
  • Dill
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Paprika
  • Herb blend
