Quick Keto Burger Saute
I don’t know about you, but when I have a burger night, I always end up making too many. Maybe it’s because of the portion sizes of ground beef at the butcher shop, or maybe my eyes are too big for my stomach. Either way, I am usually left with some extra patties the next day.
This quick Keto burger sauté came from the necessity to use up the leftovers in the fridge, without having to eat the same thing two days in a row. Instead, I started tossing all of my favorite burger ingredients into the frying pan. Not only does it come out delicious, it only takes a few minutes to prepare the nights meal.
Getting Two Meals For One
Okay, I may have made it seem like I make too many burgers by ‘accident’, but the truth is, I love having leftovers. Not only does it mean that there is extra food in case of surprise guests or a late night craving, but it also means that my next day’s meals become a little easier.
Whether it is a chicken breast or a burger, having a protein cooked and ready to go makes the lunch the next day a breeze. One frying pan, a few vegetables, and in minutes I have a whole meal prepared that looks like it should have taken me way longer to put together. Leftovers are your friend.
Taking Food In a New Direction
There are so many reasons why I love this recipe. A significant lesson to learn from it though is that food can be versatile. Despite the thousands of cookbooks out there that will tell you what a burger has to be, there is no law against doing whatever you like with your patties.
The door is open for creativity, and this recipe is a great example. Take a burger and make it into a sauté, a frittata, a portion of pasta with zucchini noodles, cooking is all about coming with new ideas for whatever ingredients you have in front of you.
You Can Add Whatever You Like
When it comes to a sauté, the world of ingredients is an open door. The recipe provided is a spin on making the traditional burger using things like onion, tomato, and avocado. My rationale behind the recipe is that these are also the ingredients that would be left over from your burger night. However, what you want to add is entirely up to you.
If you want to turn your leftover burgers into a stir-fry over cauliflower rice, then that is completely up to you. Here are a few Keto ingredients that would work great sautéed up with your burgers:
- Broccoli
- Spinach
- Eggs
- Cabbage
- Mushrooms
- Yellow pepper
