Oh, burgers the American staple. For such a simple meal, burgers are one of those meals that everyone loves – kind of like pizza. They have been made in such a classic way for so long that sometimes we forget just how many things we can do with those little patties. And, this Keto basil Thai burger recipe is an excellent example of the flavors we can pack into that beef.

With big taste and being so easy to put together, these burger patties are a great meal for a summer night… or, a spring afternoon… or, fall. Well, a burger can be perfect for any season. After trying this recipe, you are going to want to make them part of your regular meal plan.

What Makes These Burgers Thai?

Of course, burgers are anything but a Thai dish. When we think of Thai food, it usually involves rice and curries, not the good old American classic. Calling something Thai, or any cultural cuisine for that matter is not so much about the preparation or style, but about the flavors that the meal conveys.

To make something as simple as a burger Thai, we have incorporated ingredients that build upon those tastes. Some spice, some ginger, even cooking with some coconut oil, it all blends together to create an international flavor on the palate.

But, What About the Bun?

The basil Thai burgers are going to be so exquisite on their own that you won’t even need a bun. The recipe below recommends eating them with a fried egg on top, which sounds excellent. You can also feel free to throw some bacon on there because we all know burgers are better with bacon.

However, it is understandable that you may want a bun. There is something to be said about enjoying the meals you love, but sticking to your Keto diet. So, feel free to explore some Keto bread recipes. There are lots of options right here for you.

A New Platform to Explore

Once you have cooked up this recipe and found how beautiful and simple it can be it opens a lot of doors. Taking the basic idea and formula of the burger itself, you can begin to incorporate new flavors. You can even choose to explore the world by adding specific ingredients. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Italian: oregano, basil, thyme
  • American: bacon, mustard, pickles
  • Asia: Chinese five spice, gluten-free tamari sauce
