Wheaties may be the ‘breakfast of champions’, but crepes are the breakfast of the exquisite. Some breakfast meals are about piling in an abundant amount of food, some that are all about a healthy start to the day, and then there are crepes, the breakfast dessert.

These enjoyable thin pastries are so versatile in how and when they are eaten that this Keto almond flour recipe is a staple in your culinary arsenal. Once you have mastered the techniques necessary to pull off the perfect crepe, your friends and family will be begging you to make them again and again.

Check out our video on how to make these fabulous crepes:

It’s All in How You Cook Crepes

A crepe recipe is simple in concept, requiring just a few vital ingredients. Assembled correctly, the final batter should be as thick as heavy cream. The trouble most cooks face when approaching crepes is technique. These thin pancakes require finesse and diligence when it comes to creating a perfect finished product.

Begin with a clean, smooth frying pan. Any pan that carries years of wear and tear may cause more headache than necessary. Go light on how much fat you put on the bottom of the pan, you don’t want the crepes to come out greasy. The final challenge is getting the heat correct. Each stove is a little bit different, but a medium heat is the goal. Don’t get too flustered if the first couple of crepes do not come out as you intended, adjust accordingly and try again.

Almond Flour and Other Keto Options

Almond flour is by far the best Keto option when it comes to baking and recipes such as these crepes. Not only is it low in carbs, but it is also readily available at most grocery stores and markets these days. It also happens to offer many great vitamins and nutrients that our bodies crave.

However, if you are looking to mix things up, there are a few great Keto options. Try coconut flour or other nut flours. For more information on almond flour and other options, I would recommend reading this great article.
